- A decade in review •

As 2020 and a new decade dawns, I thought it would be nice to go back in time for a bit and reminisce about how the 2010s went and also to talk about where I’m at today. Just thinking about it, I’m surprised about how much my life changed in the past 10 years. Personally, I probably couldn’t be doing better. I have a loving, stable marriage. - The sound of water •

The past week or so, I’ve been stuck at home recovering from surgery. One of the features I’ve discovered that I really like on my Google Home is that I can tell it to “play nature sounds.” These are pretty relaxing on their own, and contain some of the typical things like babbling brooks and thunderstorms. Warning: Post contains some pictures that might be considered NSFW (Barbie-doll nudity). Fursonas are a fascinating subject to me, mostly as an intersection of identity expression and roleplaying. For some, a fursona is simply a character, a doll to dress up and use to play out scenes in their imagination. For others, it becomes an idealized self, the ultimate expression of “me but with fur and also how I want to see myself.” I imagine most are a spectrum between those two points. - Trans day of visibility •

I’m not sure if it’s a subconscious thing or just a conincidence, but I seem to have this habit of starting new blogs on or around
significant dates for the LGBT community. My last two blogs were started on National Coming Out Day
(in October). Today’s significant date is the International Transgender Day of Visibility.
