- Building a retro gaming PC from 2008 ā¢

One of my hobbies is collecting retro gaming hardware. I have a modest collection of several different consoles and games: Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, PlayStation 1/2, Nintendo 64, PlayStation Portable, and Game Boy Advance. Sometimes I just like to kick back with a game from the older generations and appreciate a bunch of different consoles and games I didnāt get the chance to play the first time around. I mostly gamed on PC through the late 90s and into the 2000s, so it never really occurred to me to revisit older PC hardware. However, my wife is big into City... Read more ... - Bored by E3 ā¢

Is it just me, or were the E3 press conferences this year particularly boring? Like not bad, per se, just⦠uninspired. Part of it might be due to the upcoming console refreshes⦠perhaps the flashy stuff is waiting in the wings for reveal next year. But there were still a lot of games shown by all the different publishers, and I just found myself underwhelmed. Opinion warning! Iām rambling about my own personal feelings here. ⦠but you might be upset about them, and you donāt want to buy them. Thatās okay. A video on this subject from YouTube channel Accursed Farms (creator Ross Scott) has been passed around my social circles the past few days. Iām a patron and reader of Massively Overpowered (a news site about MMORPGs), so when news broke about a private City of Heroes server that had been running in secret for years, I just had to get my popcorn and dive into this. It intersects neatly into a couple of things Iām personally interested in: the history of video games (and its industry) and drama, both of which were unfolding before me in real time. I wonāt lie, Iām a bit of a drama queen myself so I had to dive down this rabbit hole and see how far it... Read more ... - My thoughts on Epic store exclusivity ā¢

I debated whether or not I even wanted to weigh in on this topic, as itās charged with a lot of emotions amongst the gaming community right now, and Iām not really looking forward to attracting controversy. That said, I do have some varying thoughts on the subject and wanted to offer my personal take on the issue. A good portion of the responses Iām seeing to this subject are very emotional and reactionary, and it is perfectly valid to feel upset, but I wanted to share some of the different thoughts Iāve had in rationalizing and examining the situation.... Brand new web site! Iām not 100% sure what all I will use this space for just yet, but chances are some of it will be programming related, some of it will be furry stuff, maybe even some introspective real-life thoughts. Read more ...
